In the original Gospels, every time the word spirit appears, the Greek term is pneuma - meaning spirit, wind and breath simultaneously. When Jesus breathed on his disciples and said Receive the Holy Spirit, he was not making a symbolic gesture. He was giving an instruction.
This book connects that instruction with modern physiology - cardiac coherence, the vagus nerve, resonance frequency - and with the oldest Christian contemplative tradition: the Desert Fathers, hesychasm, the Philokalia, the prayer of the heart. It also explores the relationship between consciousness, energy and matter through E=mc , quantum physics and cymatics.
