From the childhood loss that left a wound he didn't know how to name, through the death of his best friend Leo, a string of relationships that broke in the same places every time, the loss of his apartment, his income, and finally himself, Kyle holds nothing back. He writes about squatting in a vacant apartment unit to survive, delivering groceries to elderly neighbors for thirty dollars a trip, and praying without answers, because someone, somewhere, needs to know that this is what survival can actually look like.
This is not a polished redemption story with the hard parts smoothed over. It is an honest account of living with depression, the kind that doesn't announce itself, the kind you learn to carry rather than cure, and the kind that can be survived. For anyone who has ever answered I'm fine on autopilot while falling apart inside, for anyone who has sat in their car in a parking lot for twenty minutes before they could go inside, for anyone who has felt like the loneliest person in a room full of people, this book is proof that you are not broken.
