The ten commandments are God's moral law which He holds all men accountable to. One of these commandments is to honor father and mother. While this command is straightforward, matters can become complicated. We are sinful creatures with a natural desire to stiffen our necks rather than yield. To make matters worse, our current culture is in complete rebellion against the authority of our parents. Parents are not viewed as sources of wisdom and experience, but rather as naive people who are ignorant of modern thought.

God designed the family model and has given each member a role. The role He assigned to children are to be subject to their parents. By rejecting the authorities God has put in place, we are rejecting His authority to give us commands. As a society that arrogantly screams in the face of those in power, God has given us over to our desires and have become one of the most foolish generations.
