This book is a record of the Fonner family, descended from William and Catherine Fonner, who settled on Fonner Run, near the Bates Fork Creek in the early 19th Century in Morris Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. The author's father, Henry B. Fonner, served in WW II in Company E, 394th Infantry Regiment of the 99th Division. One chapter details his service in the war, including action during the Battle of the Bulge. Also included is a brief history of Fonner Run and the development of the Fonner Oil Field in Morris Township starting with the drilling of the Fonner No. 1 well on the William Fonner farm in 1897.
