Folk Songs of French Canada is a collection of traditional songs from French-speaking communities in Canada, compiled by Marius Barbeau. The book consists of over 200 songs, including ballads, love songs, work songs, and dance tunes, all of which have been passed down through generations. The songs are presented in their original French language, along with English translations and musical notation. In addition to the songs themselves, the book also includes an introduction by Barbeau that provides historical and cultural context for the music, as well as notes on the various regions and communities from which the songs originate.
