Foam Lures for Lake Fishing is a practical guide for anglers who want to build, tune, repair, and use foam and other porous lures specifically for lake conditions.
This book does not promise one magic lure for everything. A foam lure is not always better than soft plastic, a crankbait, a spoon, or another type of fishing lure. In lakes, however, it has a strong niche of its own: a soft body, the ability to retain scent and flavor, slow presentations, effective pauses, precise work around cover, and the ability to modify the lure quickly for a particular species and location.

The book also covers lure selection for different species, including northern pike, perch, zander, walleye, bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill, carp, and related species. There are no exaggerated claims or invented universal formulas. For each fish, the book explains which size, hook, body, weight, scent, and presentation style make practical sense.
A separate chapter is devoted to attractants for lake fishing, including fish-based scents, shrimp, liver, blood-based additives, salt mixtures, pastes, and dry additives. It explains how to use scent and flavor without overdoing it, how to avoid ruining the lure's balance, and how to keep a foam lure from becoming a foul-smelling rag.
