A Flock of Dreams is a novel written by Elizabeth Gibson Cheyne, published in 1904. The story is set in the Scottish countryside and follows the life of a young girl named Jeanie, who dreams of becoming a shepherdess. Jeanie's father is a farmer, and she spends much of her time helping him with the farm work. However, she longs to be out in the fields with the sheep, and her dreams are filled with images of herself as a shepherdess.Despite the disapproval of her mother and the local villagers, Jeanie is determined to pursue her dream. She befriends a young shepherd boy, Jock, who teaches her everything he knows about sheep and the land. Together, they explore the hills and valleys, encountering all sorts of adventures along the way.As Jeanie grows older, her dreams become more and more important to her. She begins to see herself as a leader among the shepherds, and she works tirelessly to prove herself to her father and the other farmers. However, her ambitions are soon threatened by a series of events that threaten to tear apart the community.A Flock of Dreams is a heartwarming tale of determination, friendship, and the power of dreams. It is a celebration of the Scottish countryside and the people who call it home, and it is sure to delight readers of all ages. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
