The hidden origins of Guillaume Apollinaire, poet and forefather of Surrealism. A tale of Napoleon's captive bloodline, Bonapartes, Habsburgs and Kostrovitskis.

Moczarski offers a very different version of the final years and death of Napoleon I than is generally put forward. This work, a novel, challenges accepted historical conventions, however, had these stories of Napoleon and his heirs been revealed in the 19th Century, or even before WWI and the consequent fall of the major european empires, they could have been politically explosive.

'The Flight of Eagles' was featured in The Kostrovitski Literary and Documentary Exposition held in Minsk in 2020 by The State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, in which The National Library of Belarus and other institutions took part. Its opening was timed to coincide with the 140th anniversary of the birth of Guillaume Apollinaire. The organiser of this exposition, the Chairman of UNESCO in Belarus, described 'The Flight of Eagles' as a special book.
