Note: If you have already read Spirit of Fire and Angels Among Us (Cedar Fort 2002) then you can skip this book, Volume 1 of the Journey to Zion series (Fire of the Spirit) which is a combination of the above two books into one. If you have read those, then you may want to go straight to Volume 2 Angels of Fire. That book has never before been published and was only released in April of 2020.
This epic novel is a marked departure from Pontius' normal genre' as he is well known for his profoundly inspirational non-fiction writings which include Visions of Glory, Journey to the Veil and Following the Light of Christ into His Presence. This new fiction series represents what is perhaps the most important message John yearned to convey, concluding his fictional narrative was the most effective way to express the transcendent life-truths he had discovered. Like all of us, Sam Mahoy deals with the normal challenges of life, but from childhood Sam learned to be receptive to the promptings of the Spirit, mastering a profound faith in God.
Follow Sam as he faces life with courage, strength and determination in the face of daunting setbacks at every stage of his journey. From a small Idaho town to his mission in South Africa and unintended entanglements with menacing diamond smugglers, this book sets up an epic story resembling the author's own life, including actual places and spiritual events he experienced during the upward struggle of his mortal passage.
Sam's gripping adventure continues in Book Two, Angels of Fire, the never-before-released conclusion of Sam's epic Journey to Zion.
