Charlotte Gunner is a widow and single mother of three boys. Needing a fresh start where her boys will be safe, the cost of living will be cheaper, and she can hopefully get her health back in a better place, she finds a home for rent in Brookston, Wyoming. One located on the Sullivan ranch.
The boys are thriving, but her health hasn't turned around yet.
Charlie Sullivan is the youngest Sullivan son and the only one who is single. He works full time at Red Barn as a bartender and manager and part time at his family ranch. Most people seem to know him as a fun and easy going guy, a hard worker, and loyal to those he cares about. He's also a natural protector.
But he doesn't seem to see any of that as his place in life, the town, and in the family. At least not until he sees the young boys that are their most recent new tenants. On that day they seem very upset and he has to make sure they aren't in a bad situation.
It starts a series of events that will change his life in ways he never expected.
