An Eric Dice Adventure
History: In October 1940, the Italian Army crossed the Albanian border into Greece. The attack ended Greece's neutrality and began feeding the cornerstone of Western civilization into the meat-grinder of World War II. Psychological profile: The traits of a sociopath result from environmental trauma and not from a brain abnormality. Impulsive with weak emotional attachments, the sociopath can function in a peaceful society despite their thin connection with other humans. Fueled by passion, greed, and international intrigue, Eric Dice and Sofia Vangelis are threatened by the consequences of their actions. And just a step behind, Inspector Nikos Vlassis pieces together clues to identify a murderer before the butcher cuts and kills again. But Italy's invasion of Greece has complicated the investigation by obscuring timelines and destroying evidence. Plus, an unasked question looms over the three.

In a battle zone, is the sociopath a hero or a monster? Eric Dice, a recent graduate from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, received an Archaeology fellowship to study in Athens, Greece. Eric arrived in the city expecting academics. He found enemies and lethal confrontations. Unfortunately for Eric's enemies, his Storm Demons welcomed the challenges. The deadlier the encounter, the more Eric Dice's personality disorder emerged. Inspector Nikos Vlassis feared for the soul of his country. As police officers were drafted into the army, the Cities Police in Athens found themselves overwhelmed. Inspector Vlassis hated that war caused law enforcement to be reduced to the most expedient solutions. Adding to his busy caseload, bodies with a symbol cut into the flesh began piling up. Sofia Vangelis, a Greek beauty, had long avoided her family's outlaw business. But when her grandmother was taken hostage, Sofia picked up a weapon and became the Pretty Lady with a Gun. In doing so, she started a war with the government's secret police, the National Security Ministry. Between the Italian invasion and the internal threat, she had no choice but to join the outlaws.
