He is said to have written the life of his Patron, Laurence O'Toole, Archbishop of Dublin. 47. 1233. John of Taunton, in England, a Canon of St. Patrick's, Dublin, succeeded. He died in 1258, and was buried in his Cathedral. 48. 1258. Simon of Kilkenny, a Canon of Kildare, was elected Bishop in this year. He died about 1275. 49. 1279. Nicholas Cusack, a Franciscan friar, was appointed Bishop by the Pope on 27th November, 1279, after a disputed election had kept the See vacant for some years, ...
