Tim and his fiancée Jessica find Lifandoy invaded by falcon thieves. They plan to foil them. But a simple crime becomes both a personal tragedy and a crisis for the green movement. Jessica's young sisters join the chaos, while Uncle Wilfred has his own plan. New friends make a great find. Then a vile new threat to Lifandoy's wildlife appears. In the confusion, the falcon thieves raid a nest. As the evil around him threatens what he lives for, Tim ponders its origin. Moved by the fire of a diving falcon at the chasm of the Great Stack, and by an odd reading from Uncle Wilfred, Tim struggles for answers. A shock find by Wilfred sets the whole island agog, with Alice and friends in the lead. Into the bedlam breaks news of a horrifying climax. Why does Uncle Wilfred want half an army? Tim is tested to the limit with strange results. Can the falcons be saved and the thieves caught? Can environmental ruin be avoided? And what will be next for Tim - if he lives?
