The pieces were written and performed by Ishinga in 1980s and 1990s and reflect the bleak and tense siege like atmosphere of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's Britain. Ishinga is a performance poet and has performed the pieces in this collection across London and in many parts of the country and abroad; sometimes solo, sometimes with a flautist and sometimes with a six piece African jazz band..
