As part of the Master in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, this project presents the theoretical background, methodology and material designed for an English for Specific Purposes course in a Hardware Technician Program- whose level is A2 (CEFR). Principles of the Task-based Approach, Text-based Instruction and Content & Language Integrated Learning are incorporated, ensuring that the course addresses both professional and academic needs. The material includes the development of three modules -with lessons that lead to a real-life task- suggested sources, and a guide for the teacher. It aims at developing specialist skills, facilitates the acquisition of technical vocabulary and raises students' awareness of learning strategies. Soft skills and the use of social media and AI are promoted. The texts are authentic and the students are provided with comprehension strategies to gradually understand the content and intentionality of those texts. Teaching ESP courses for more than a decade allowed me to design a unique coursebook that may be meaningful for similar educational contexts. I expect this book to contribute to research on an area with little literature.
