Start with programs you can run on your computer, then follow board exercises for the STM32F407G-DISC1 development board. Along the way, build an understanding of how firmware uses memory, communicates with peripherals, responds to events, and handles unexpected conditions.

- Write and understand C variables, data types, expressions, decisions, loops, and functions.
- Work with arrays, pointers, strings, structures, headers, and reusable modules.
- Follow the path from reset to main, including startup code, flash, SRAM, and linker scripts.

- Understand clocks, timers, PWM, interrupts, and the challenges of shared data.

- Organize firmware with state machines, button debouncing, and cooperative scheduling.

Put these ideas into practice through an early LED exercise, a potentiometer-controlled LED laboratory using ADC, DMA, and PWM, and a desk-monitor project with button input, LED output, and UART commands. Build the desk monitor's application logic on your computer before following its STM32 board workflow.
