Ellie Elephant looks into the waterhole and doesn't like what she sees. She thinks her big floppy ears, wrinkly skin, and long trunk just look plain weird.
She doesn't understand why elephants have to be fat, and she decides to change her look by losing weight.
After facing ridicule, Ellie must decide if she wants to be a fat elephant or a skinny elephant.
And in the end, she decides to love herself no matter what. There are kids all over the world who can relate to Ellie and who dislike certain features about themselves.
This is a wonderful story about self-acceptance and self-love, and encourages kids to embrace their differences and realize they are unique and special beings.
This book also includes a bonus poem about African elephants that you are sure to enjoy.
