The fundamental aim of this work is to cultivate an understanding of the neoliberal aspects within United States Education Policy and to investigate its impacts on primary and secondary education. This research will explore the declining quality of education in the US and its effects on young people in their quest to become a successful 'global citizen'. This project seeks to illustrate how neoliberal ideals influence the existing educational institutions functional capacity and to what extent. An escalating and perhaps long-standing view of Americans as 'self- centered', 'individualistic', 'ignorant', 'un- worldly', among other traits have generalized the nation's public. This venture seeks to determine if current US Education Policy is effective in creating 'global civil political awareness' among youth in the US, fostering prosperity in today's globalized world.
