Exercitatio Theol. De Pactis Hominum Cum Diabolo Circa Abditos In Terra Thesauros Effodiendos Et Acquirendos explores theological perspectives on pacts made between humans and the devil, specifically concerning the excavation and acquisition of hidden treasures. This treatise, penned by Michael Foertsch and Johannes Andreas Rinneberg, addresses a tragic case that occurred in Jena during the Christmas season.
The work delves into the ethical and theological implications of such agreements, offering insights into 17th-century beliefs about the occult, the devil's influence, and the pursuit of earthly riches. This historical text provides valuable context for understanding the intersection of theology, folklore, and societal anxieties during a pivotal period in European history.
