Excuse Me! is a novel written by Rupert Hughes and published in 1911. The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Angela Waring, who is determined to make a name for herself in the world of journalism. Angela is a strong-willed and independent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes in. The novel is set in New York City during the early 1900s and explores various themes such as gender roles, social class, and the struggle for success in a male-dominated industry. Angela faces numerous challenges and obstacles in her quest to become a successful journalist, including sexism and discrimination from her male colleagues. Throughout the novel, Angela's determination and perseverance are put to the test as she navigates the cutthroat world of journalism and tries to balance her career aspirations with her personal life. Along the way, she meets a variety of characters, including her love interest, the wealthy and influential John Mainwaring.
