Examination and Review of a Pamphlet Printed and Secretly Circulated by M.E. Gorostiza (1837) is a book written by William Augustus Weaver. The book provides a thorough analysis and critique of a pamphlet written by M.E. Gorostiza, which was circulated secretly in 1837. Gorostiza was a Mexican diplomat who served as the Mexican Minister to the United States during the 1830s. In his pamphlet, Gorostiza criticized the policies of the Mexican government and advocated for the annexation of Texas to the United States. Weaver, a journalist and political commentator, refutes Gorostiza's arguments and defends the Mexican government's policies. The book is an important historical document that sheds light on the political tensions between Mexico and the United States during the 1830s, particularly in relation to the annexation of Texas. It also provides insight into the intellectual and political debates of the time, as well as the role of propaganda and secret circulation of information in shaping public opinion. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
