Terrorists' use of social media has exploded over the past several years. Terrorist groups from ISIS to the Taliban use social media platforms to recruit, radicalize, spread propaganda and even raise money. The Khorasan Group in Syria is a group set up by al-Qaeda and Syria to attack Europe and the United States. The group also has a fan Facebook page. YouTube is popular with terrorists as well. In April 2013, the al Qaeda branch in Yemen known as AQIM held an online press conference on Twitter. This report examines the idea that if foreign terrorist organizations are using American companies to spread propaganda and raise money, the question that remains is: Is this a violation of American Law?
