The Evils of Infant Baptism is a book written by Robert Boyte Crawford Howell in 1851. The book is a critical analysis of the practice of infant baptism in Christianity. Howell argues that the practice of baptizing infants is not supported by the Bible and is instead a man-made tradition that has been adopted by many churches. Howell presents a thorough examination of the history and origins of infant baptism, as well as the theological arguments for and against the practice. He also discusses the practical implications of infant baptism, including the impact it has on the spiritual development of children and the role of parents in shaping their religious beliefs.Throughout the book, Howell makes a strong case against infant baptism, arguing that it is a harmful practice that has led to many negative consequences in the church and in society as a whole. He advocates for a return to the biblical practice of believer's baptism, which he believes is the only true and valid form of baptism.Overall, The Evils of Infant Baptism is a thought-provoking and challenging book that raises important questions about the role of baptism in Christianity. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history and theology of the church, as well as those who are grappling with questions about their own religious beliefs and practices. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
