Essays: mainly Rejected is an intriguing collection of prose by E. Binney that captures the intellectual and creative spirit of the early 20th century. This volume brings together a series of reflections that traverse a wide range of subjects, from the trivialities of daily existence to more profound meditations on literature and society. As the title implies, these pieces represent the author's more unconventional or overlooked thoughts, presenting a narrative voice that is both sharp and self-aware.
The work stands as a testament to the art of the English essay, blending humor, irony, and sincere observation. Binney explores themes of modernity, tradition, and the role of the writer with a style that is both accessible and intellectually stimulating. Readers will find in Essays: mainly Rejected a fascinating display of personal perspective, where the author's wit serves as a tool for navigating the complexities of their era.
This collection is particularly valuable for those interested in the evolution of the modern essay and the literary culture of the late 1920s. By highlighting themes that were often sidelined by mainstream periodicals, Essays: mainly Rejected offers a refreshing and historically significant contribution to the genre of literary collections.
