This short collection constitutes an attempt at a new and different kind of pornography, one that encompasses both arousal and emotion, and perhaps also tragedy. It is my hope, in doing so, to follow the suggestion of the writer Allen Moore, himself the co-creator of the extraordinary pornographic fantasy Lost Girls: To create a pornography of higher aesthetic quality. It is also my hope that such a pornography may serve as a call for radical empathy in a world that is increasing becoming inhuman. In such a world, sex remains one of the means of achieving such an empathy. Nonetheless, I have attempted to honor the grand tradition of pornography, which is to arouse the reader. One must leave it to the reader, of course, to judge whether I have succeeded.
