The Epworth League's History And Our Pledge chronicles the origins and development of the Epworth League, a significant youth movement within the Methodist Church. Authored by Dan Brearley Brummitt, the book provides a detailed account of the League's formation, its core values, and its impact on young Christians. It explores the historical context in which the Epworth League emerged, emphasizing its role in fostering spiritual growth, social engagement, and a commitment to service among its members.
Central to the book is an examination of the Epworth League's pledge, a declaration of principles that guided the lives and actions of its members. The book delves into the meaning and significance of each element of the pledge, highlighting its enduring relevance to contemporary Christian life. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the historical roots of Methodist youth ministry and the ongoing importance of cultivating faith and character in young people.
