English Metrical Homilies From Manuscripts Of The Fourteenth Century is a book written by John Small and published in 1862. The book is a collection of English homilies, which are religious sermons, written in verse form. These homilies were originally written in the fourteenth century and were found in various manuscripts. The book includes a total of 27 homilies, each with its own introduction and notes by the author. The topics of the homilies vary, but they all focus on religious themes such as sin, redemption, and the afterlife. The language used in the homilies is Middle English, which can be difficult for modern readers to understand. However, Small provides helpful notes and explanations to aid in comprehension.
