The Effects of Practice on Judgments of Absolute Pitch is a scientific study published in 1922 by Evelyn Gough Bacon. The book explores the concept of absolute pitch, which refers to the ability to identify and reproduce musical notes without any reference. The study aims to investigate whether practice can enhance an individual's ability to judge absolute pitch. The book is divided into several chapters, with the first chapter providing an introduction to the concept of absolute pitch and the purpose of the study. The second chapter discusses the methods used in the study, including the selection of participants, the testing procedures, and the statistical analysis of the data. The third chapter presents the results of the study, which show that practice can indeed improve an individual's ability to judge absolute pitch. The fourth chapter discusses the implications of these findings and suggests possible applications in music education and training. The book is written in a scientific style and includes detailed descriptions of the experiments and statistical analyses. It is aimed at researchers and professionals in the fields of music psychology and education, as well as anyone interested in the science of music perception and cognition. Overall, The Effects of Practice on Judgments of Absolute Pitch is an important contribution to the understanding of the human ability to perceive and reproduce musical notes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
