The Israeli Occupation over the West Bank and Gaza Strip has affected the lives of the Palestinian people in all aspects of their daily lives, with freedom of movement being restricted, to land seizing, checkpoints, and most importantly the building of the Israeli Separation Wall; the effects of the occupation has placed many Palestinians in a state of poverty. These occurrences have shaped the need for a more resilient Social Safety Net (SSN) to alleviate the effects of poverty on the Palestinian people. This paper will look deeper into the effectiveness of the Social Safety Net as a Poverty Reducing Strategy (PRS) in the West Bank and Gaza Strip by examining the key attributes which can affect its success while looking deeper into income-generating activities.
