Edwin Brothertoft is a novel written by Theodore Winthrop. It tells the story of a young man named Edwin Brothertoft, who is a talented artist and a member of a wealthy New York family. Edwin is sent to Europe to study art, but he becomes disillusioned with the art world and decides to travel to the Holy Land instead. Along the way, he meets a variety of characters, including a group of American missionaries and a young Jewish woman named Rachel. Edwin becomes deeply involved in the conflict between Jews and Arabs in Palestine, and he ultimately sacrifices his own life to save Rachel and her family from harm.
