Edith May: A Romance of Colorado is a novel written by Cecil Dreame and originally published in 1882. The story is set in the American West during the late 19th century and follows the titular character, Edith May, a young woman who moves to Colorado to start a new life.Edith is a strong and independent woman who quickly adapts to the rugged lifestyle of the West. She falls in love with a handsome cowboy named Jack, but their romance is threatened by a rival suitor, a wealthy and influential man named Arthur. As Edith navigates the challenges of life in the West, she must also confront the social norms and expectations of her time. She struggles to balance her desire for independence with the pressures to conform to traditional gender roles. The novel is a classic tale of love and adventure in the American West, and it offers a glimpse into the social and cultural landscape of the late 19th century.
