He didn't just kill. He collected. He stitched. He wore the dead.
Long before modern serial killers dominated headlines, Ed Gein committed atrocities that would scar the American psyche. Dubbed The Butcher of Plainfield, Gein robbed graves, crafted furniture from human remains, and murdered at least two women-all in the quiet of a rural farmhouse.
In Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield, David G. Stone takes readers deep into the twisted world of a man whose crimes inspired Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs. Through gripping narrative, forensic analysis, and psychological insight, this book uncovers:
- Gein's disturbing relationship with his mother
- The horrific inventory inside his home
- The courtroom battle over his sanity
- His lasting influence on horror fiction and film
For true crime fans and students of the macabre, The Butcher of Plainfield is a haunting journey into the mind of one of history's most grotesque killers.
