Ecclesiastical Duties And Revenues Bill: Speech Delivered In The House Of Lords, On Behalf Of The Deans And Chapters Petitioning Against The Bill, July 23, 1840 is a historical document written by James Lewis Knight Bruce. The book is a speech that was delivered in the House of Lords in 1840 on behalf of the deans and chapters who were petitioning against the Ecclesiastical Duties And Revenues Bill. The speech is a detailed argument against the bill, which proposed significant changes to the way that the Church of England was run and funded. Bruce argues that the bill would have a detrimental effect on the church and its ability to carry out its duties. He provides a detailed analysis of the bill and its potential impact, drawing on historical and legal precedents to support his arguments. The book is an important historical document that provides insight into the political and religious debates of the time and the role of the Church of England in society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
