Dramatis Personae is an attempt at autobiography, which takes as its starting point the long - held belief that the world is a stage and life a play. Most literary fiction is based upon this notion which allows a few to be remembered while the vast majority of us go unwritten-up .In an attempt to make some amends for this oversight, the author of Dramatis Personae simply records the names of those who have shared his experience and so made up the cast-list of his life. It will, of course, have little significance for anyone whose name does not appear on the list but it may encourage others to keep a similar record of their life. For that reason, at the end of the book, are several blank pages on which readers can list their own Dramatis Personae .A retired history teacher, David Conduct now lives in Durham where he taught for over 20 years. This is his tenth book. When not writing, he can be found busking from home on Periscope@durham-busker and on YouTube @durham-busker.
