When Jimena moves from New Jersey to Texas with her family, everything feels unfamiliar: her apartment, her school, even Enchilada Day in the cafeteria. They aren't the crunchy, Guatemalan-style enchiladas she knows and loves. Instead, her new school serves rolled-up tortillas with meat inside and sauce and cheese on top. Jimena knows one thing for certain: These are not enchiladas! But when her family hosts a dinner with new friends and two traditions meet at one table, Jimena discovers that different can also be delicious, and that she can hold on to old traditions while also embracing new ones. A warm, relatable story about embracing new experiences.
