'Dilli' is the story of a daffodil bulb longing to bloom into a beautiful flower. Deep down in the earth where she was warm and cozy, away from Mr. Northwind and Mrs. Snowflake, Dilli feels unhappy. But the story unfolds. Dilli's journey from bulb to bloom teaches valuable lessons about patience and self-discovery. Illustrated and scripted in a charming vintage style by Donna Butterworth in 1953, Dilli the bulb captivates young readers with her whimsical charm and relatable facial expressions. Through simple text and illustrations, children learn about the science of bulb growth while enjoying the rhythmic rhyme peppered throughout the story: Fee, fi, fiddle dee dee, a dancing daffy-dilly will be me. Ultimately, 'Dilli' is a heartwarming tale that celebrates the beauty of embracing one's true self and the joy of growth, transformation and potential.
