In this book, Dear Mr. President, What is CO2?, Crystal shares art created by Travis Cunningham, a brilliant foot artist, exquisite poetry by children from South Carolina, facts and solutions that explain to children what human activities have been doing to Mother Earth, and how everyone can lessen the harmful effects to ensure a healthy environment for all. It has been a sight unseen for many years, but did you know that carbon dioxide (CO2) gases are seriously affecting the Earth? The planet is heating up dramatically, fundamentally changing the world in which we now live. If this continues at its rapid rate, our mishaps will continue to affect life as we know it in more ways than we may comprehend. Please understand that we contribute to the climate changes that is already in progress, but the outcome does not have to be as scary it may sound. Your daily decisions will help determine just how intense or not the effects of global warming could be. In Dear Mr. President, What is CO2?, you will experience art and poetry at its finest, learn about why we should focus our attention on protecting Earth, our only home, and ways to preserve its natural resources. You will experience a whole new outlook as you discover a deeper relationship with the only life-giving planet that has been abused since the Industrial Revolution began. It does not take rocket science to see that the vital necessities we need for life: air, water, and food have been neglected and are becoming more contaminated. With over seven billion people populating the Earth, or shall we say, Polluting it, it is simple to assume the quality and quantities of life's three necessities are not what they used to be.
