You thought you heard a calling. You saw a vision. You believed God said Genesis. And then the door closed. The plan unraveled. The dream felt lost. If you've ever felt betrayed by your own faith, overwhelmed by detours you didn't ask for, or crushed by expectations you couldn't meet-this devotional is for you.
In 21 days of raw truth and hopeful reflection, Janita walks you through her storm: diagnosis, loss, disappointment, and the unexpected resets that felt like endings. But this isn't just her story. It's yours when the road bends, when your strength feels small, and when you don't quite know how to stand again.
Dear God: This Wasn't the Plan isn't about perfection-it's about Failing Forward. It isn't about having all the answers-it's about discovering what's true. And it isn't about your mistakes-it's about what God does with them.
You will find scriptures that meet you, reflection questions that shake loose what's been buried, to remind you that even in the broken places, you are being built.
If you're standing in the valley, God hasn't left you. He's still writing. He's still building. And what felt like the end is really your Genesis moment.
