Hop. Flap. Fall. Try again!
Once a quiet baby bird wondering whether anyone would choose him, Daryl Baby's life changes forever when his gentle caregivers, Alec and Ward, welcome him home. Daryl hoped his new home would be better than where he'd been.
At home, Daryl meets Beatrix-a bold, confident parrot that looks like him and glides through the air with effortless grace. Watching his new big sister soar sparks a brave dream of flying in Daryl's heart. Daryl quickly learns that flying isn't easy. When he first opens his wings, they tremble and droop. When Daryl tries to leap, he tumbles to the floor. Daryl wonders if he's just not meant to fly.
Step by small step, from finding his first chirp to calling out Beatrix's name, Daryl learns that big victories are built one try at a time. With Beatrix patiently guiding the way and Alec and Ward's gentle encouragement, Daryl discovers that true bravery is about getting back up when you fall and trying again.
Daryl Baby Learns to Fly is an uplifting picture book that helps children overcome self-doubt, build emotional resilience, and celebrate every small milestone. Inspired by real green-cheeked conures, this heartwarming story shows how love, patience, and practice help every heart learn to soar.
