Dreams for Ireland is a historical novel written by Ethel Goddard and published in 1903. The story is set in Ireland during the 19th century, a time of great political and social upheaval. The novel follows the lives of two young women, Kathleen and Nora, who come from very different backgrounds but share a deep love for their country and a desire for Irish independence.Kathleen is the daughter of a wealthy landowner who is sympathetic to the Irish cause. She is educated and well-traveled, and she becomes involved in the fight for Irish independence through her friendship with a group of rebels. Nora, on the other hand, is a poor peasant girl who works as a servant in Kathleen's household. Despite her lowly position, Nora is fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and she becomes involved in the struggle for independence through her work with a local secret society. As the novel progresses, the lives of Kathleen and Nora become increasingly intertwined as they work together to achieve their shared dream of a free and independent Ireland. Along the way, they face many challenges and obstacles, including betrayal, violence, and personal tragedy. But despite these setbacks, they remain steadfast in their commitment to the cause and to each other.Dreams for Ireland is a powerful and moving novel that captures the spirit of the Irish people and their struggle for freedom. It is a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit, and a reminder of the enduring power of hope and dreams. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
