The Drapier's Letters is a collection of political pamphlets written by the famous Irish author and satirist, Jonathan Swift. Originally published in 1724, the letters were written in response to the Irish government's attempt to introduce a new copper coinage that would have greatly benefited the English merchants at the expense of the Irish people.
