Beyond the limits of ordinary consciousness lies the Eye in the Void.
Draconian Consciousness is Michael Kelly's advanced exploration of Draconian magic, initiation and the transformation of consciousness, taking the Seven Heads of the Dragon curriculum established in Apophis into its most challenging and far-reaching territories.
The journey begins with the Fourth Head - the Serpent - and the Opening of the Eye in the Void: the pivotal initiatory experience through which the magician first reaches beyond ordinary human consciousness and apprehends the relationship between the manifest world and the infinite. But this awakening is not the end of the journey. It is the doorway. The book itself describes the Fourth Head as the axle upon which the entire process of transformation turns, and as a window through which the Initiate perceives what must come next.
From there, the Dragon raises its higher Heads.
Through the Fifth Head - the Raging Lion, the Initiate confronts Desire as a magical force, deliberately awakening passion, obsession and intensity and learning to harness them as engines of transformation.
Through the Sixth Head - the Rebellious Giant, consciousness challenges the apparent boundaries of time, space and possibility, entering territories of transgression and expanded perception.
Finally comes the Seventh Head - Typhon: the domain of Divine Madness, godlike consciousness and the audacious task of outgrowing the bounded Universe itself. The Seven Heads are explicitly summarized in the book as a progression from mastery of body, mind and psychic perception through transhuman consciousness, Desire, the transcendence of temporal and spatial limits, and finally a sgtate cognate with Divinity.
This is not a book concerned solely with abstract occult philosophy. Its exercises are intended to bring initiatory insights into manifestation in the everyday world, making advanced magical consciousness something to be lived, tested and embodied.
Readers will encounter themes including the Eye in the Void, advanced magical initiation, altered and expanded consciousness, Desire and obsession, Draconian magic, Set and the transgression of boundaries, time and space, magical perception, Divine Madness and Remanifestation.
Draconian Consciousness is intended especially for experienced practitioners and readers already familiar with serious magical and initiatory work. Those who have worked through the earlier Heads of the Dragon in Apophis will find here the road continuing beyond Adeptship and into increasingly radical possibilities of Becoming. The book itself describes the Fourth Head as the point where the finite touches the Infinite, while insisting that an entire Universe of Becoming still lies ahead.
The Eye has opened.
The Void lies beyond.
Now raise the remaining Heads of the Dragon.
