Doctor Cupid, L'Amore Medico is a musical comedy written by Enrico Golisciani and first published in 1914. The play is set in the 18th century and follows the story of a young doctor named Cupid who is tasked with curing a group of love-sick patients. Cupid devises a plan to cure the patients by pretending to be a famous doctor, and using his charm and wit to win over their hearts. Along the way, he falls in love with a beautiful young woman named Lisetta, but must navigate the challenges of his patients and their various love interests. The play features a cast of colorful characters, including a jealous rival doctor, a wealthy merchant, and a group of young lovers. With lively musical numbers and witty dialogue, Doctor Cupid, L'Amore Medico is a delightful romp through the world of love and medicine. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
