Jamal and Monica had the kind of love you would write home to momma about. They met in high school, fell madly in love and were married shortly after. Sixteen years later so many things have changed, they have a sixteen year old daughter, a home, and a dilemma. Jamal is disheartened with his loss of employment and inability to achieve new employment. Drowning his sorrows in alcohol, Jamal starts to lash out his anger about his situation in violent ways. He wasn't raised in a home where domestic violence was a constant and wonders why he's so comfortable wrecking havoc on the home he and his wife have built. Can he get over his personal demons and rid their home of his steel fist? Monica never imagined the love of her life would turn so sour. The first time her husband laid his hand on her she didn't know what to think. Years into their battle zone that used to be called home Monica must face some difficult decisions. Or does she stay with Jamal in hopes that the man she loves will come back? Does she leave him and think of the impact that the situation has on her daughter? Simone is between a rock and a hard place. She loves her parents but their fighting is making it difficult for her to enjoy her home life. Frustrated that her mother stays with her father through the abuse, Simone begins to despise her father for his actions. Simone is tired of seeing her home in shambles and her mother in tears. Unbeknownst to Simone while she loathes the actions of her parents, their situation spills into her own love life causing everyone to rethink their actions in hind sight. Domestic is a story filled with the highs of love, the lows of despair and deals with choices that effect the people around us. The back story told through domestic flashbacks adds another depth to the story and provides the key to a surprising alternate ending.
