A war veteran's story of healing, recovery, and personal discovery.
In this moving memoir, the return of a war veteran to civilian life is chronicled in a touching book that highlights the often traumatic after-effects of war on the human psyche, and his journey to healing and recovery.
A middle-aged war veteran, Clifford, has seen more wars than most people will ever encounter in their lifetime, and there is only so much violence, bloodshed, and injuries that a man can sustain before his spirit is damaged.
Clifford was and still is the victim of prolonged warfare.
Barely surviving the crash when his helicopter went down due to enemy fire, Clifford was forced to retire from active duty because of severe injuries. After numerous surgeries and months of recovery, he quickly found out that adapting to civilian life was much more difficult than he'd ever imagined. His physical injuries and the psychological trauma sustained from his time in active duty were his new battlefields, and they were taking a toll on his mental well-being.
Bounced between hospitals and surgery rooms due to the severity of his injuries, Clifford fell into a dark well of depression that he couldn't come out of for a long time. That is, until he adopted Ruben, a sweet and loyal service dog. This marked the beginning of his transformation from a depressed veteran to a warrior on his way to recovery and finding true, lasting love.
Deeply introspective and poignant, A Dog's Journey is a powerful story of one man's journey to companionship, inner healing, physical recovery, and love in the unlikeliest of ways. It will inspire you to keep moving on despite any setbacks you may face.
A profound story that will deeply touch your sensibilities and give you a glimpse of the challenges faced by our loyal veterans.Order your copy today. Thank you.
