This discourse, delivered on September 5, 1847, commemorates the life and legacy of Silas Wright, the late Governor of New York. Will. B. Sprague offers a detailed reflection on Wright's distinguished political career and personal virtues. The address serves as both a tribute to a prominent figure in New York's history and a commentary on the political landscape of the era.
Sprague's eulogy explores Wright's contributions to state governance and his impact on national politics. It provides valuable insights into the political climate of the 19th century and the qualities of leadership admired during that time. This historical document offers a glimpse into the life and times of a significant American statesman.
