Die Qualification Für Den Staatlichen Bibliotheksdienst in Oesterreich by Salomon Frankfurter is a historical lecture delivered in Vienna in 1898. This work provides a fascinating glimpse into the requirements and standards for state library service in Austria at the end of the 19th century.
The lecture, presented to the Oesterreichischen Verein Für Bibliotheswesen (Austrian Association for Librarianship), discusses the qualifications necessary for individuals seeking to work in Austrian state libraries. Frankfurter's presentation offers valuable insights into the professionalization of library science and the evolving role of librarians during this period. It is a useful resource for historians of library science, those interested in Austrian history, and anyone seeking a better understanding of the development of library standards.
