Jane Forte believes she's finally on the right track. After winning the coveted prize on a reality show, she lands her dream job on the hit television show, Design My Life. Working for decorating diva Sandy Lewis--a designer who specializes in Decorative Finishes! Paint Effects! Unique Repurposing! And Exclamation Marks!--was supposed to be a dream come true for Jane. Except Sandy's not only demanding, she's downright awful, and Jane's days are spent mired in miserable tasks, while her boss takes all the credit and pretends Jane doesn't exist.
Jane's job of making Sandy look good whatever it takes becomes even more impossible when a hot new contractor joins the show in a push to boost the ratings, and Nicole, the network's new design darling, starts biting at Sandy's heels. And when embarrassing videos of Sandy are leaked online and go viral, Jane must take on ruthless network executives, ambitious producers and devious rivals--all angling for a spot on the network.
Liza Drozdov's debut novel is an insider's look at the truth behind lifestyle television--it's Martha Stewart meets The Devil Wears Prada in one bold, brassy, no-holds-barred romp sure to delight fans of Jennifer Weiner, Emily Giffin and Lauren Weisberger.
