These twelve true crime cases span Victorian railway compartments, Edwardian station offices, and a packed London Underground platform - and each reveals how a system built for order became, in one critical moment, a system that violence could enter and use.

- Countess Teresa Lubienska - an Auschwitz survivor stabbed at Gloucester Road Underground station; 18,000 people interviewed, no conviction, 1957
