The Date and Authorship of the Book of Splendor is a scholarly work by Arthur Edward Waite that explores the origins and history of the mystical Jewish text known as the Zohar. The book delves into the various theories surrounding the authorship of the Zohar, which is believed to have been written in the late 13th century by a Spanish mystic named Moses de Leon. Waite examines the evidence for and against this theory, as well as other possible authors and dates of composition. The book also includes a detailed analysis of the Zohar's content and influence on Jewish mysticism. Overall, The Date and Authorship of the Book of Splendor is a thorough and insightful study of one of the most important mystical texts in Jewish tradition.THIS 18 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Doctrine and Literature of the Kabalah, by Arthur Edward Waite.
